Get valuable protection for the financial future of the most important people in your life

One increasingly popular way for people to ensure that the wealth and assets they have accumulated remain secure for their family members today, as well as future generations, is to purchase life insurance. And, similar to financial investment strategies, it is often wise to diversify your life insurance holdings with multiple solutions. At Fred C. Church, we believe that securing the appropriate life insurance policies, and regularly checking that they are keeping up with your changing situation, is one of the most valuable actions you can take to preserve everything you have now, and what you may accumulate in the future.

Financial Security

A life insurance policy is a key piece of your overall financial planning puzzle.

Life insurance, which is primarily known for its death benefits, is a wise way to make sure that loved ones are able to pay off expenses, like mortgages and credit card debt, in the event you’re no longer around. Proceeds from a life insurance policy can also be used to help replace lost wages and potential retirement savings contributions you would have contributed to your household, or to fund a child’s current or future educational needs. And, of course, life insurance is designed to cover the costs related to your end-of-life expenses, from funeral and burial arrangements to large medical or nursing home bills that are incurred during the last few months of your life. The Fred C. Church team is here to guide you through what type of policy is best for you and the ways a life insurance policy can support you, your family, and your financial well-being.

What is the difference between a term life and permanent life insurance policy?

Before you invest, Fred C. Church will make sure you understand all your policy options.

With so much variety in life insurance providers, policy benefits, and premiums, it is no wonder that most people require the assistance of a knowledgeable insurance professional to help them evaluate their specific insurance needs, and the pros and cons of each policy available to them. One of the very first decisions you and your broker will need to make is whether a Term or Permanent policy is the best fit for your life today and where you hope life takes you in the future.

What is a Term Life Policy?

This policy provides coverage for a certain period of time, so if the insured dies during this “term” of years, a predetermined death benefit will be paid. This type of insurance is generally less expensive than other coverage options. Unlike some other forms of life insurance, you do not accumulate a cash value throughout the years, so at the end of the policy term, if you have not used the death benefit, your investment has zero value.

What is a Permanent Life Policy?

This type of policy provides lifetime coverage and is comprised of two parts – a savings portion and an insurance portion. There are also two types of permanent life policies, called Universal Life and Whole Life, which you and your insurance partner will need to evaluate for suitability. This type of insurance offers a consistent premium and accumulates a cash value that can be borrowed against in an emergency, for education costs, or virtually anytime you need a loan. You will pay a higher premium compared to a term life insurance policy.
